Sub Pop Records was founded Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman in Seattle, Washington in 1986. It gained fame when it signed on Nirvana and other bands from the Seattle scene. They have signed on to them bands including Fleet Foxes, The Postal Service, Flight of the Concords, No Age, and The Shins.
